Things that I have learnt:
I have learnt quite a few things and gain quite a few knowledge from this attachment. During the 1st day I was posted to Glyochemistry and Glyobiology Lab, which mean I am learning both chemistry and biology at the same time. My professor was very nice when I first met him. He brought me the lab and I was under another teacher. So I help him out with his experiment and at the same time learn from him too. Well, almost everything that I have done in the lab are those that I have not learn in school yet. I learnt the use of rotary evaporator, test UV using samples, dialysis method etc. My lab people are very nice to me too. I have to thank them for helping me, for explaining to me in de tails when I don’t understand anything and sometime even help me to find the translation for English word.
普陀山 & 宁波
My professor brought all of us out for a 2 days outing. We left on the 31st march evening and came back on the 2nd april evening too. We took boat to普陀山, the boat wasn’t a pleasant experience and it took us about 12hr to reach there. All of us woke up at 5am, that was early and we slept around 1plus am. At around 6plus in the morning, the boat start to become so shaky that I felt dizziness, so I went back to my bed and slept and I feel better after that. Finally we arrived at around 8plus in the morning. Our tour guide was very nice and brings us around by explaining to every place that we went too. The trip there was an enjoyable one except the climbing up and down of the stairs is very tiring.
After that we took a speedboat to another island to take bus to宁波. Luckily the boat ride there was 10min only. After which our bus have to go inside the boat again and it fetch us to some places before we reach. So cool, is my 1st time having this experience where the bus went into the boat. Went out with some of my lab people at the night and we took cab there, so after walking for quite awhile, we pass by a foot massage shop and we decided to went in, so the 5 of us went to do it until 12am den we took a cab back to our hotel. Was so tired that I slept after I bath.
Woke up at 7am and went down to have our breakfast before we set off to other place. So we went to 张介石 to learn about the history and once again have to climb up and down the hill and it was tiring. Did not have a proper meal throughout the days cause I dun really know how to eat their food. We left around 3pm and back to Shanghai, reach SIMM around 6plus in the evening and went for dinner.
It a fun outing with my lab people, it is a outing that I will never forget during my days here
扬州
What I can said about this trip is totally bad for me, I dun really enjoyed this trip at all, due to the poor tour guide and maybe the organizer people too. Went扬州 on the 12th april and back on the 13th april. All of us have to gather at SIMM by 7.30am so I woke up quite early on that day. The journey there was long about 4hr and I slept on the bus but it wasn’t very nice, cause the bus is not comfortable at all. Went to the Zoo on the 1st day and the zoo doesn’t look like zoo at all, in the end we got so much free time that we decided to sit the speedboat together with Mr Xu, it was so exciting that all of us shout. Then we went to sit the boat which took us about 40min, but the scenery was quite nice.
Went back to our hotel in the evening and although the hotel isn’t that bad I still prefer my own hostel. Went to some place in the morning and it was so bored that we sit down there to eat biscuit and the rest play cards. Overall I don’t like this outing.
